A New Year

Well hello there!

A very happy new year to you all! I hope you had a pleasant festive period.

I guess it’s been a while! Not had much going on in my musical world for the last few months and I would like to sincerely apologise for not sending my usual regular updated. My bad and I am truly sorry. Please forgive me?

Last year was a great year for me, both musically and personally. So many highs from 2011, including my first trip over to Denmark with the fantastic Andrew Gordon, supporting Skerryvore at the famous King Tut’s Wah Wah and even playing my first wedding, among lots of other great experiences. In August I asked Kirsten to marry me and she said yes! So I am now engaged and we have moved into our first home together. It’s been a rollercoaster ride moving in together, and a lot of fun! I even have my own wee room to use as a studio (or Kit can lock me in here when I’m annoying her!) and I have just today finished getting everything set up so I can start recording again.

Now that we have moved in and are settled in, I can now re-focus on my music. I haven’t set any goals for 2012 yet, but I am hoping to record some more song including “Meetings and Partings” and some traditional ones. I hope to write some new songs too, I have enough inspiration now anyway! I have also been toying with the idea of a video blog. I don’t know how often I will do it yet, but is definitely something I want to do. Of course, any gigs that come my way I’ll be sure to let you know too.

I would like to wish you all the very best for 2012 and I plan to have something new uploaded here in the coming weeks.

Cheerio!
