It’s been a wee while since I last posted to you! Things have been a bit quiet of late, but I am now building up for my annual island hopping holiday! I’m really looking forward to going back to the Hebrides; Mull, Barra, the Uists and of course finishing with the Hebridean Celtic Festival in Lewis!
This takes me to the main subject of this post. My friends Brian Ferguson and Jim Campbell, who I usually travel with/party with while island hopping have set themselves a challenge – HitchHop. They will be hitch-hiking for two weeks to try and get to as many islands as possible! With this challenge, they will be raising funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. Anyone who lives at the coast or has visited the coast will be well aware of how vital the RNLI is to saving lives in coastal communities.
To help with their fundraising efforts, I have made my song “In the Reek of the Smouldering Peat” available as a single download for £1. All of the money raised from this single will be donated to the HitchHop fundraiser which will then be sent on to RNLI. You can purchase the single by visiting the shop at www.andrewhuggan.com. Alternatively, you can make a donation on the HitchHop fundaiser page. You can find out more about HitchHop and follow Brian and Jim’s journey by visiting the HitchHop blog.
